Using Our Code Examples

Code examples exist to be used. You may copy any code sample from this site and use it in your own projects, including commercial ones, with no attribution and no permission needed.

This applies to the code itself. It does not extend to the surrounding explanation, articles, graphics or design, which remain covered by the section above.

Permitted Use of Our Written Content

  • Read, share and link to our tutorials.
  • Quote short extracts for teaching or review, with clear credit and a link back to the original page.
  • Use our material for personal study.

Restricted Use

Without prior written permission, you may not:

  • Republish our articles or tutorials, in whole or substantial part, on another site.
  • Sell, licence or redistribute our content as your own product.
  • Translate or adapt our written content for publication elsewhere.
  • Scrape the site in bulk, or use its content to train a model, without our written consent.
  • Use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you.

Content You Create

Code and text you write in the Try It editor or the practice workspace remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.

When you create a share link, you give us permission to store that content and serve it to anyone holding the link, for as long as the link exists. You are responsible for what you submit: it must be yours to share and must not be unlawful. We may remove shared content that breaks these terms or the law.

Third-Party Libraries and Trademarks

Code previews load open-source libraries, including React and Babel, from a public CDN. Those libraries stay under their own licences and belong to their respective authors. Product names, logos and trademarks mentioned in tutorials belong to their owners and are used for identification and teaching only.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email us with:

  • Your name and contact details.
  • Identification of the work you say has been infringed.
  • The exact URL on this site where it appears.
  • A statement that you believe the use is not authorised, and that the information you have given is accurate.

We review every report and will remove or correct material where the claim is valid.
